    ART CENTRAL 2023

Alzueta Gallery  aims to present the public, on the occasion of its participation in Art Central Hong Kong, a brief description of all it has to offer: presence, potential, novelty and globality. A commitment to the art of the future, with nods to the past. A letter of presentation in its entirety. A tribute and a reflection on circular evolution, the capacity of creative human beings to return to their origins.
All this, opening a bridge between two worlds so different but so equal, between art lovers with the same objective and the same motivation: to feel, express, share and connect.

    THE BEGINNINGS

Jordi Alcaraz, an acclaimed artist whose work can be found in museums and collections and who has years of experience behind him, making him one of the most important Spanish artists of the the scene. His work represents what is true, our beginnings, where we started. The artist who tells tales while shattering, who consolidates infinite stories in just a few elements.

    PROMISES

David Macho is the future of Spanish art. David is free, chaotic, and combines the unpredictability of the humour of current cultural references with the most concise and methodical technique and methodology imaginable. One more step towards Alzueta’s projection as a gallery that is committed to the artists of the future, the new generations, who, as in his case, demonstrate that they have everything they need to succeed.

    EUROPE

Sune Christiansen‘s motifs are colourful and often include abstract human-like figures, created with an intuitive and playful approach to the subject. Despite his objection to trying to explain the meaning of his figures, they evade the meaning of his figures, they evoke thoughts of power dynamics, religious rituals and sexual symbolism.
Christiansen’s art lies between the abstract and the figurative, and explores a simplified, naive and liberated expression that pays homage to the works of the masters of the last century.

    STORIES

We are passionate about stories. Intrinsically, art has always been the best carrier of narratives and none of our artists tells better stories than Guim Tió.
Each work delicately presents a scene frozen forever. A creator who conquered the hearts of our collectors from the very first moment for his unique ability to freeze intimate moments, now eternally ours.

    TRIBUTES TO THE PAST

Mirco Marchelli was born in Italy at the same time that arte povera was beginning to make its way into the artistic panorama of the country, and then of the Western world. Not everyone can say that the inspiration for his work comes from growing up surrounded by one of the most important artistic movements in the history of art. Mirco’s work takes everything he has learned and experienced and brings it back to life; his waxes, terracottas and recycled cut-outs are, in the most literal way possible, an aesthetic recycling of the great masters.  A rich reconstruction of the poor art.

    UNIVERSAL RESONANCE

Xevi Solà’s characters are unique, rare and beautiful, each one of them captured in a modest and intimate moment. His works, far from showing what is there at a glance, capture a feeling, a sensation that is there, regardless of the origin of the protagonists or the observer, Xevi’s talent for creating an unspoken link between the viewer and the painter is unparalleled. A flawless formula: using images of the human being so that said human being is reflected, regardless of space or time, always.

    TRIBUTES TO THE EAST

Never forgetting the beginnings, the last step is to close the circle and bring Jon Koko back to the waters of the Pacific seas.
We know very little about Jon Koko; that he was born in the 1980s and currently lives in Malmo, Sweden. Jon spends approximately 20 hours of his time in solitude, and has done so for the past 4 years. Influenced mainly by Japanese art, his creations are characterised by meditation and the study of space. In his works, form and content combine harmoniously, noiselessly.
An artist who stands out for his combination of respectful tradition and promising progress. A bright future that reflects the new generation’s initiative to create bridges between cultures and kilometres.
