After many months of work in various ceramic workshops, Alcaraz presents in our new gallery in Turó Park a set of sculptural pieces in ceramic through which the artist breaks again the frame of the ceramic to take it and turn it, as he likes, into a reference of his own. A set of ceramics, in his usual black and white, will undoubtedly please and surprise all lovers of Jordi Alcaraz’s work, a long awaited surprise that we are very excited to present to you at Alzueta Gallery.
As difficult as it is for a poet to consider writing a novel. The change of genre represents for the writer a titanic effort to transform what he used to say just in a few verses into a story that has a long beginning and a long end. Alcaraz, the poet, has left the flat surface of a painting to put his hands in the mud, in that primary thing called mud, and turn it into a work as Alcarazian as all the ones we know by him. The narrator has become a poet, or vice versa. Alcaraz, the magician, has turned pottery into a painting and his paintings, kneading them, breaking them, turning them into fragments… into pottery.
