Lives and works in France

Sarah Moon is a French fashion photographer who emerged in London during the 1970s, known for her ethereal, painterly style. Her work often features rich jewel tones and evokes a sense of romanticism and mystery. As she explains, “For me, photography is pure fiction… I am expressing something, an echo of the world maybe.” Her photographs are marked by an almost abstract focus on texture, mood, and the interplay between reality and imagination.

Moon’s work stands apart from traditional fashion photography, offering a personal exploration of beauty, memory, and emotion. She prefers to use color to transcend reality, saying, “Color forces me to be more abstract… black and white is closer to introspection, to memories, to loneliness and loss.»
