Juan Narowé is a Brazilian artist and illustrator who currently lives and works in Barcelona, Spain. Graduated in Visual Arts from the Federal University of Minas Gerais, he has exhibited individually at Alzueta Gallery in Girona, Middleman Gallery in Busan, Ana Mas Projects in Barcelona, DiGallery in Sevilla, TACA in Palma de Mallorca and at Meca Gallery in São Paulo. He has participated in collective exhibitions such as The Curators Room in Amsterdam, Estampa Madrid Art Fair, UVNT Madrid Art Fair, Swab Barcelona Art Fair, Muestra de Arte Joven de La Rioja, the Belo Horizonte International Photography Festival, the Tokyo Art Book Fair and New York Art Book Fair.

The work of Juan Narowé moves between drawing and painting with frequent forays into self-publishing and graphic work. His work includes a wide range of languages, media and formats that arise all from drawing. His narratives are nourished by sophisticated references to different disciplines such as literature and cinema. The numerous elements and characters that populate his imaginary arise from a slow sedimentation and a broad plastic reflection. Often the point of Narowé’s game are fragments, memories of an after- dinner meal, a conversation or a meeting: anodyne remains of a shared moment. Stories and apparently very simple objects but whose power to evoke is infinitely captivating.
