About
“My passion for painting is cultivated from an early age by the influence of my father, who introduced me to the world of art and beauty, and conveyed to me its importance in the development of the human soul. Since my childhood, I have felt a deep connection with painting and architecture, and this bond was strengthened by frequent visits to important art galleries around the world in the company of my parents.
From a young age, I experience a deep emotion when contemplating contemporary works of art, particularly those belonging to the abstract expressionism movement. The expressive freedom and the ability to convey emotions through strokes and colours fascinated me.
When I got older, my passion for painting became more evident, and I began to explore my own creativity and style, developing a form of artistic expression that reflects inner emotions, which in turn can fit and coexist in spaces, in full harmony and balance”.
Emeca’s work is characterized by the focus on large format painting, based on the coexistence between
color, light and the composition of solid forms. His paintings have a chromatic strength that alludes to fields of color observed from above with a bird’s eye view, where lines and surfaces stand out in their contrasts. His inspiration comes from everyday activity and his aesthetic perception, capturing the essence of places and moments, where he finds unexpected combinations and textures.
Through composition and combinations of opposing colors, his research lies in transmitting controlled strength through his works. To achieve a visual placidity, Emeca approaches his work with meticulousness: using digital sketches to visualize the composition before starting to paint on canvas, always imagining the final result from premeditation, a target on the horizon to reach.
His moderated and directed process allows him to create works with a forceful aesthetic, always trying to transmit sensations and generate a balanced but impacting impression at the same time. In addition, it demonstrates his interest in continuing to explore the large format and the interaction between painting and the spaces where they are exhibited.
On his trips to the coast of Galicia the artist makes hanging compositions of his canvases, before tensioning, in an open space to observe how they interact with the natural elements. The light that passes through, the wind that moves the canvases, all elements that later find their place in the final work. This search for harmony through color and vigorous form is reflected in his process and artistic vision, resulting in evocative works of bold colorful shapes that allow the viewer to freely interpret and feel. A new vision of the environment, transferred to the canvas.
