Cesc Abad’s artistic journey revolves around the exploration of humanity’s relationship with nature, a theme that has been intrinsic to his practice from the beginning. His work delves into the depths of human emotions and existential queries, utilizing nature as both an inspiration and a mirror of human experience. Through his ongoing investigation of form, Abad elevates the figure of the human being—our desires, doubts, and aspirations—placing them at the forefront of his work as central characters in a narrative that unfolds on his canvases and sculptures. Abad’s exploration is not limited to aesthetic representation but involves an ongoing dialogue between light, wisdom, and the complexities of human nature. The artist often uses light as a symbolic element, highlighting the contrasts between clarity and doubt, knowledge and uncertainty. His work captures the internal conflicts that drive human decisions, embodying the tension between instinct and intellect. Abad also reflects on mimesis, not just imitating nature to capture its beauty, but also mirroring human actions and relationships. Through his sculptures and paintings, particularly in his Divans series Abad explores themes of love, lust, and existential questioning, using the human form as a canvas for these reflections. His recent works communicate a unique blend of sensuality and intellect, where multiple limbs and suggestive sails stand as metaphors for the complexity of human desires and existential doubts.

Cesc Abad is a visual artist whose work traverses various mediums, with a strong focus on sculpture, painting, and installation. After his early years experimenting with different materials and techniques, he transitioned to a more professional art practice following the sale of his business ventures in 2016. Abad’s creative journey was shaped by his upbringing in a family business, and his decision to pursue art full-time marks a significant shift in his life. His recent exhibitions include solo shows at Alzueta Gallery (Barcelona), Valerius Gallery (Luxemburg), and Victor Lope Galeria (Barcelona, Madrid), among others. His works are represented in various international collections, including those of Sebastian Vettel, Stefan Simchowitz, and Daniel Cardani, and have been featured in prestigious fairs such as Feria Estampa (Madrid), Art Madrid (Madrid), and Drawing Room (Lisbon). Abad continues to live and work in Barcelona, where he explores the intersections of humanity, nature, and existence through his art.
