Painter, art historian, and freelancer, David Macho graduated in Art from the University of the Basque Country and specialized in research in art and design at the Autonomous University of Barcelona. His artistic practice revolves around «bureaucratic plasticity,» exploring its relationship with the system as an aesthetic problem.
In the early stages of his career, Macho worked on projects subsidized by institutions throughgrants and university agreements. However, in 2019, he made a conscious decision to disengage from this cycle of precariousness and pursue a different path. This defeatist attitude consciously propelled him to stand out for his unique narrative creation, employing criticism and cynicism as means of presentation.
David Macho’s transformation from an innocent enthusiast to an art mercenary with humor is evident in his work. Since then, he has embarked on more personal projects and undertaken commissions for renowned individuals, whom he fondly refers to as the contemporary court. Notable figures among his clientele include Neil Harbinson, Luis Venegas, Paloma Wool, Rigoberta Bandini, Stacy Wall, and Rosalia.
One of his most significant collaborations was a campaign for Gucci, which involved several artists from around the world.
